One Easy Change Meant Over 200 Trees Planted
At PAHO/WHO FCU, we’re proud to serve the members of the global health community who strive to make the world a better, healthier place. We also believe in making a difference when we can. Early in 2020, we asked our members to make a change to electronic statements. In all, over 200 members made the switch to eStatements last year, resulting in over 200 trees planted through the global reforestation non-profit One Tree Planted. Thanks to you, our members, a total of 222 trees were planted across Haiti, Colombia, Peru, Honduras, Guatemala and Brazil.
Why Did We Plant Trees?
We believe trees are an important part of global health. They clean the air we breathe, provide natural remedies for medicines, and are even proven to reduce stress. Just having a view of a tree can help hospital patients heal faster. Similarly, choosing eStatements can help improve global health and simplify your financial life.
You Can Still Help Make the World a Healthier Place
Sign up for eStatements for your savings and checking accounts, as well as your credit cards. When you do, you’ll help reduce your carbon footprint by minimizing the amount of fuel needed to deliver those statements in addition to a reduction in the number of trees needed to create the paper and print your statements.
